Featured here is a discourse on the contemporary wire antenna CAD profession. Part 1 describes a method for the analysis of wire antennas and related structures based on the generalized Hallen equation, explains how it is possible to reduce various cylindrical structures to approximately equivalent circular cylinders with magnetic coatings, and deals with the problems of printed narrow-slot antennas on thin dielectric substrate and narrow-slot antennas cut on sheets of non-zero thickness. Part 2 gives numerous examples of the scope of the CAD processes, including the WireZeus-based CAD of wire antennas and related radiating structures along with their matching networks.
