A collection of six read-aloud stories, blending reality and fantasy. At first glance, Lucy-Anne's life may not seem any different from that of any young girl. She plays in her bedroom, goes for a bus-ride, builds a snowman in the garden. But look closer and you will find that Lucy-Anne's world is a magical place where a large grey blanket on the washing-line turns into a hungry elephant, where buses fly, where snowmen talk, where you might suddenly find yourself small as a doll or invisible or turned into a runner-bean! These are some of the amazing things that Lucy-Anne experiences in these read-aloud stories. Derek Smith has also written "Frances Fairweather" and "Hard Cash". Tom Kenyon has illustrated "Jam for Tea", "The Holly and the Skyboard" and "Gemma and the Beetle People".
