This is part of a new series of sports coaching handbooks, published in association with the National Coaching Foundation and the sport's governing body. Each book is an introductory guide for coaches, written for those who are called upon to coach beginners. Designed as a practical working manual, it includes clear step-by-step methods for introducing and developing techniques, skills and tactics. The general role and responsibilities of a coach are discussed, along with clear guidelines with regard to safety and prevention of injury. Each book ends with an abbreviated version of the official laws of the sport.
