A liquid drop is said to "wet" a surface if it tends to spread more or less uniformly across the surface, rather than beading up as an isolated droplet. Wetting is the first volume to be devoted to this subject, which has attracted interest from chemists, physicists, materials scientists, chemical engineers, and biologists. The presentation will lead the reader to many corners of science which are relevant to current research.
