Annabel is described as a resourceful, irrepressible heroine, a kind of female William. Alan Davidson's first four books appeared under his pen-name A.D. Langholm. The most recent was "The Bewitching of Alison Allbright" which was the subject of a mini dramatization by The Book Tower (Yorkshire Televi sion).
