A border territory where much conflict takes place is within ourselves. Becoming a Christian calls us to surrender our egos, but it is a constant struggle to relinquish control of our lives. It is a daily battle of which St Paul wrote, but in the example of Christ, Jane Williams finds a strange but compelling paradox: the way to complete personal freedom is via obedience - a virtue rarely spoken of today.
