Fifteen integrated case studies of multinationals in Britain, the USA and Germany provide the basis for this comprehensive research study. Comparisons between corporate objectives, planning strategies, incentives and performance measurement in the three countries offer insights into the cultural and structural environments of the various companies. In particular, the stability of the national growth rate and the capital market seems to have a strong influence on the types of performance evaluation adopted.
