The National Curriculum requirement to study Shakespeare is met by the new titles in this series which provide extra material for these set texts.Lower-ability pupils can progress easily as they complete the activities provided in these supportive resurces.A variety of aspects of the scripts are considered as the resources cover theme and plot development, and Shakespeare's language and characterisation.The scripts can be realised as actual production pieces, using the notes provided on staging, theatrical devices and audiences.The flexibility of the worksheets enables the teachers to use the material in a variety of ways according to their lesson plans.
The material is presented under the headings of the language structure of poetry, drafting poems, ballads and narratives, performing poems, responding to poems for Key Stage 3 STATs and poetry topics (In this case Tennyson, Gina Douthwaite and poetry about animals)The worksheets have been designed with less-able pupils in mind; with enaging artwork, clear layout, large typefaces and simple instructins. However, the choice of content is appropriate for the average teenager. Pupils will find the activities interesting, enjoyable and rewarding.
