This work is the third in a series providing the means of identifying the polychaetes found in Scottish waters. It is devoted to the Nereidae, whereas Part 1 dealt with the Polynoidae and Part 2 with the Aphroditidae, Sigalionidae and Polyodontidae. To assist the process of identification, drawings - executed by Susan Chamber - have been included for every species. These illustrative as well as textual keys offer a useful supplement, indicating how specimens should be looked at to ensure diagnostic characters are observed.
