This work explores the breadth and scope of accommodation management in hotels beyond the narrower confines of "traditional" approaches. It does so by placing accommodation within the wider strategic context of hotel management. Accommodation is not simply about meeting and greeting people, checking them in, cleaning their rooms and repairing the plumbing. Accommodation is managing of what hotels "do". The book consists of a selection of articles contributed by subject experts from leading hotel schools around Europe. The book covers many aspects within this field: from the supply and marketing of hotel accommodation; through front office and housekeeping management to current trends in hotel design; and yield management or entertainment in hotels.
