Signs of the Seasons is a very simple introduction to the changing seasons for 5-6 years olds. Each book looks at the changes that occur as the new season begins. Beautiful photographs and clear, concise text help children to identify the changes that take place around them as the year progresses from one season to the next. Each spread concentrates on a particular sign, from weather changes to animal behaviour. The series aims to develop young children's observation skills and knowledge of the natural world, by inviting them to look out for all the signs presented in the book, and then to think of other signs that they know from their own experience. Each book ends with a short poem relevant to the season.
