Tedro Ames has lost his ranch and his sweetheart to his devil-may-care antics. He must either redeem himself, or resign himself to a future as the laughing stock of the Swiftwater area. A gang of ruthless blackmailers is terrorizing the town and leaving black aces with their ransom notes. Tedro gets a "Black Ace," and when he meets up with another black ace victim, blacksmith Henry Kline, he knows what he must do. He'll prove himself worthy of his neighbors and of his love by unmasking the "Black Ace" gang.
