Silent Heroes

Michigan native Lowell Thomas began his professional career as a teacher of business education in the small town of Parchment, Michigan, later working with the Midland Public Schools and Delta College. He was a co-founder of the Literacy Council of Midland County, Inc. In the 1970s, Thomas was selected as a part-time national seminar leader for the Bureau of Business and Technology in New York City. Retiring from the MPS in 1987, he became the first campus director of the Midland Campus for Great Lakes Junior College (now Davenport University).

Throughout his professional career, Thomas wrote numerous articles for state and national professional publications, freelancing for the New York Toy BuyerAEs Guide, Michigan Municipal Review, The Michigan Retailer, the Grand Rapids Press, and the Midland Daily News.
