Book 5.2

Many light years from Earth, a vast human spaceship hangs in orbit over a cloudy alien planet. The crew have been travelling in cryosleep for many years, looking for a habitable world to settle, and have at last located one with potential. However, they're not the only people to have arrived in this place. The TARDIS has landed on the planet's surface. The Doctor, Steven and Vicki explore and quickly find themselves separated. But it isn't merely the hostile environment and rogue terraforming drones they'll have to deal with. Something else is living on this world. Something deadly and waiting to consume. It's an ideal world. But ideal for whom? The Early Adventures are a range designed to tell stories in long gone Doctor Who eras, with narration from some of the actors there at the time. Here Maureen O'Brien and Peter Purves reprise their 1964 roles as the Doctor's assistants Vicky and Steven. Peter Purves-known and loved by a generation as one of the definitive Blue Peter presenters, not only recreates his companion role, but gives a careful, fond impersonation of First Doctor actor William Hartnell. This 2018 run of four Early Adventures tales creates a self-contained story arc with the Doctor, Vicky and Steven confronting enemies old and new. CAST: Maureen O'Brien (Vicky), Peter Purves (Steven Taylor/ The Doctor), Angela McHale
(Kay / Christophe), Alex Jordan (Heathcote), Tom Stourton (Factotum / Fitzgerald / Samsara), Carolyn Pickles (Traherne),
Oliver Mason (Grant / Danuka), Lisa Bowerman (Elias).

Published 30 November 2014
An audio adventure set in the early days of television's favourite, and longest running, Sci-Fi series DOCTOR WHO: THE EARLY ADVENTURES - THE BOUNTY OF CERES sets out to tell a story as if it were from the classic era of the series; a period of huge popularity but where many episodes now remain lost. Ceres. A tiny, unforgiving ball of ice and rock hanging between Mars and Jupiter. It's no place to live, and it takes a special kind of person to work there. The crew of the Cobalt Corporation mining base know exactly how deadly the world outside their complex is, but the danger isn't just outside anymore. The systems they rely on to keep them safe are failing and the planet is breaking in. When the TARDIS strands Steven, Vicki and the Doctor on the base, they have to fight a foe they can barely comprehend to survive.
