This is an Advanced Level text that reflects the needs of post-GCSE students. The book takes a skills-based approach, encourging the student not only to develop analytical and interpretive skills, but also to apply knowledge and theory to real world situations. It cross-relates macro and micro-economics throughout the text illustrating current developments in the British economy and highlights the increasing role of governments and the political influences on economic policy making. In addition, the author examines the problems faced by ecnomists and develops an understanding of the limitations involved in investigation of economic situations. There is also an overview of the different schools of economic thought and these are related to the theory and practice of economic analysis and government policy making.
