The "Cascades Coursework Folder" offers newly developed materials to support reading and response to fiction in the classroom. These photocopiable materials are addressed directly to students and are designed to support them working independently, either on their own or in groups, on the "Cascades" novel of their choices. For each book featured, there are three units of work for the student to choose from. Every unit focuses on a different aspect of the novel in depth, including challenging areas such as form and structure. All the units provide preliminary work with chart, notesheets and discussion opportunities leading the students into their own close exploration of the text. They also contain a choice of written assignments leading on from the preliminary work, with further support for the student on their chosen assignment. As new Cascades titles are published supplementary sections are made available for inclusion in the ringbinder. A replacement contents page is also provided.
