Islamic Finance and Capital Markets is a comprehensive and analytical guide to all the major branches of Islamic finance, with particular focus on compliance with the Shari'ah tenets. Based on the foundations laid in "Understanding Islamic Finance" (Muhammad Ayub, 2007), it will serve as an intermediate to advanced, hands-on guide and textbook for finance and law practitioners, graduate and post graduate students, academics and researchers.

Starting with familiar analysis of Shari'ah compliant finance, the book then provides solid analysis of Islamic capital markets and instruments, including but not restricted to coverage of the nature and trading of Islamic securities, Sukuk markets, Islamic financial derivatives and their markets, explanations of business risks and their mitigation in Islamic finance, types of regulatory regimes, the Basel Accord and its impact on Islamic finance, Takaful models, products and operations, strategic planning in Islamic banking, operating in micro and macro environments, assessing external forces, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and auditing internal capabilities.
