The assemblage of finds from Roman Aldborough is one of considerable importance, yet it is almost invisible because the site museum is only open in the summer months and has very limited display space. The publication of this catalogue is therefore essential to make the large body of material more widely available. This catalogue concentrates on the small finds, including a wealth of domestic items, jewellery, tools and a collection of military equipment of particular significance for the history of the site. Almost all of the items are illustrated, with full descriptions, and references where applicable. A book which brings a rich collection into public view making it available for assimilation and reassesment.
