Newcastle

This is a photographic book on the history of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a city of tradition and ceremony with constrasting styles of architecture. To illustrate this, the author has group photographs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries with comparative photographs of the 1960s and again in recent years. There is a street plan showing the location of the photographs, and the book can also be used as a guide for an interesting walk around the historical sites of the city. It should be of interest to local historians, residents and visitors alike.
