After her divorce from an out-of-work actor, Suzanne Hart decided to pursue her passion. So she cashed in her settlement and opened up the Donut Hearts coffee shop in her North Carolina hometown. But when a dead body is dumped on the doorstep like a sack of flour, the shop becomes a crime scene, with people are dropping by for donuts and gruesome details. Soon Suzanne, who finds snooping as irresistible as donuts, is poking holes in alibis.
A local busy body drops dead after eating one of Suzanne Hart's treats. A forensic team soon swarms through the Donut Hearts kitchen, and suspects the worst of Suzanne. But with the help of police inspector Bishop and her ex-husband Max, Suzanne hopes to clear her name.
