Part of the "Complete Potter" series, this book explores the techniques needed to produce highly original decorated pots. A general introduction on the history of decorated pottery is followed by chapters examining the skills required to achieve successful results. Techniques covered are accompanied by illustrations of the various stages and colour photographs of finished pieces. Particular attention is paid to the importance of surface decoration, with advice on how to achieve depth and clarity by applying colour in transparent layers.
