This series encompasses world history from the earliest peoples to the present day. The titles are chronological and within each book information is presented by region, with coloured maps to support the text. As well as the history of civilizations, cultures and countries, the everyday lives of ordinary people are also recorded, with particular attention being paid to the way in which religious and political changes affected their lives. Covering the period up to and including the Roman Empire, this book looks at the earliest people in Africa, the Olmecs and other civilizations in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and elsewhere. It includes features on the spread of writing and the growth of religions.
