Maths Puzzles

This book contains maths puzzles and investigations organized by maths topics - numbers, algebra, shape and space, data handling - with each section organized by level of ability. In addition to puzzles such as dot-to-dot and crossnumbers, the book includes open-ended investigations that require the children to consider which approach to take, and that may have more than one answer as a result. This illustrated book is intended to be fun as well as educational, to be a support for any maths scheme of work as well as to provide educationally-sound time-fillers. The teacher's notes give information on each activity as well as the answer where relevant. Because of the investigative nature of the activities the notes will also stress the need for discussion and reasoning. There are also ideas for extension activities.
