There is an increased emphasis in the new English curriculum on developing effective methods of gathering, displaying, using and applying information. This book provides ideas and activities for teaching these skills in preparing pupils to become independent learners. As the information handling processes overlap, the book is organized into sections covering particular facets of fields of information, such as books, maps and visual sources, media and new technology. It covers all aspects of critical reading, researching, note-taking, reporting, library skills and IT. It includes photocopiable pages.
