Book 1
This volume offers a reflective, multi-diciplinary collection of complementary articles concerning ethics, sport and leisure, and how such areas are investigated, researched and understood. Topics covered include: ethical procedures, assumptions and moral principles underlying the use of particular research strategies and techniques; ethical practice in sports science and applied sports techniques; nature of the research process; researcher-researched relationship; and the role of the researcher (covert or overt?) in qualitative work. The Chelsea School Research Centre Edition series originated in the advanced scholarship and research undertaken in CSRC as it consolidated and developed its national and international research networks. It brings together state-of-the-art scholarship and research in the sociology of sport, the sport sciences, leisure studies and physical education. Each volume comprises multidisciplinary approaches to a common theme, or themed collections based upon single disciplines. Specialist scholars from the CSRC or prominent authors from other universities and Research Centres contribute to these editions.
