What objections could there possibly be to plans for developing an abandoned East Anglian airfield into a theme park commemorating the American presence during World War and the Cold War? A hard-working partner in the family's wine and beer distribution business with warehouses close to the airfield, one-time Captain Craig, with an eventful military career behind him, does not expect to be drawn into mysterious undercurrents in the whole project, while at the same time grappling with his own problems in a passionate affair with the beautiful, uninhibited wife of a devious M. P. Only gradually does he realise that someone who has long borne him a grudge has been manipulating bewildering events, leading to his being charged with abduction and possibly murder. The reader will be absorbed by this tense contemporary story of big business, politics, love and treachery.
