by David W. Rees and Simon D Smith

Published 12 December 1991
This work is written with the intention of helping people suffering from tinnitus and their families. The introductory chapter presents factual information about the condition, its causes, prevalence and treatment and discusses sufferers' common initial reactions to developing it. There are innumerable myths and misunderstandings about tinnitus and one of the aims of the book is to encourage better knowledge of the condition. The remainder of the book goes on to cover the psychological consequences of having tinnitus and to encourage the reader to assess how much the condition will affect his or her daily life.
