Cat creeps up and catches Rat while he is sleeping. Rat offers to show Cat a trick, so Cat lets him go. Rat takes a cricket bat out of a hat, then he disappears into the hat. When Cat looks in the hat, he finds a can of nuts! But Rat is hiding in the empty can, and he runs away from Cat!

Dan loves bugs, so when his favourite bug, Sid the slug, disappears during a family picnic in the park he is very worried. Casper asks Mr Burns, the dragon teacher, to clean out the wrong pong and the gang go with Thatch to help him find the right pong for his coffin - rat poo!


This title is part of Bug Club, the first whole-school reading programme that joins books with an online reading world to teach today's children to read. In this Orange-B level Casper book: Scare School is preparing for their Meany, Screamy Dance contest, but Casper isn't mean enough, so he fades away. When it's time for the contest, it's Ra and Mantha against Thatch. That is, until Casper appears and flies in circles around Thatch's head, making him dizzy! In the end 'friendly-mean' wins the prize.
