This is the first translation of an expressionistic novel that treats in an allegorical manner the events of the Russian Revolution. Waidson, who is well known for his translations of Goethe's Wilhelm Meister and other works, provides an introduction into the works of Paquet, a significant but heretofore almost totally neglected writer.
