Using familiar examples such as the planning of the school garden, this textbook for 11-12 year olds goes on to explore land formation, water and climate, using examples drawn from student's experience wherever possible and examining the effects of these phenomena on human activities. This new four-book series aims to provide a grounding in geographical skills for the 11-14 age group. The approach in all four book is environmental and issues-based with a strong emphasis on pupil involvement and active learning. Each book is made up of substantial modules of work which can be rearranged or used in conjunction with other material to make up a geograpahy or humanities course, according to the needs of the class.
