Continuing the saga begunin Jubilee, Festival follows the fortunes of three families during the increasing optimism of post-war Britain. As the heart of the story is Poppy,whose catering business is proving successfulas rationing and food shortages end. The Festival of Britain in 1951 seems to sybolisem this new spiritof hope.
