Archibald Lyall's classic book covers the whole coastal region of France between Menton and the Spanish frontier. It describes not only the glittering coastal resorts of the Riviera but also the most interesting villages of the immediate hinterland and the great inland cities - Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Avignon, Orange and Nimes among them. Details are given of hotels and their addresses, and of the amenities and types of beaches to be found along the coastitself. This edition has been revised and expanded by Norman Brangham, himself a considerable expert on the area.
