Leaving behind a successful career in an American soap opera, Foxie Marlowe returns to Melbourne to comfort her recently widowed mother and take over her father's racing stables. However, she finds out that during her father's illness the business was rescued by Daniel Morgan - the son of an old family friend and the man she had an affair with four years previously. Foxie believes Daniel has taken advantage and stolen her inheritance, until he convinces her to join him as a business partner. Ignoring her lawyer's advice, she invests money and her emotions in Daniel. But can she really trust him?

With a broken romance behind her and a promising future ahead Corey O'Brien intends to concentrate on her chosen career. She certainly doesn't expect to come to the attention of someone like Mario Antonello, a racehorse owner and heir to a fashion house. Their first meeting isn't friendly so she is surprised by the interest he shows in her later. It all seems too much and it will take a while for Corey to find out the truth. Then she discovers a shocking secret and feels she must turn her back on him forever.
