National Curriculum guidelines on the teaching of environmental education sets out attitudes that should be fostered, such as care and concern for the environment, independence of thought on environmental issues, a respect for the beliefs and opinions of others, a respect for evidence and rational argument and tolerance and open-mindedness with regard to environmental issues. The activities in this book are organized under the headings - people and their communities, buildings and industry, material and resources, plants and animals, water, weather and climate.

One of a series of photocopiable books designed to save busy primary teachers hours of preparation time, thus leaving them more time to teach, this book is aimed at teachers of 5-11 year olds and contains a collection of activities linked to the festival of Christmas. It comprises 134 cross-curricular activities, based on the various customs and traditions of this seasonal celebration. Designed for individual or group work, the activities are divided into seven curriculum subject areas and organised by level of ability within each section. In addition, there is a section of useful templates, for everything from reindeer to decorations.
