Intended as a follow-on from "His Love is a Fire", this book is designed to tell the reader directly of the motivating force behind Brother Roger's life, and so to enable her or him to follow Christ's example of peace and love as Brother Roger has. Anyone who reads the book will find encouragement, challenge, stimulation for her or his own relationship with God, as well as an abiding impression of Brother Roger's deep faith in Christ's love. It also includes the Taize song and words addressed to the Taize community by Pope John Paul II, and a brief outline of the history of Taize, the community that has grown out of Brother Roger's desire to communicate God's love.
Between 28th December, 1994 and 1st January, 1995, over 100,000 people from around the world attended the European Meetings of Young Adults in Paris. Written for these meetings, this book is also used for reflection throughout the year at the Taize ecumenical community in Burgundy, France.
