Published 30 April 2005
Mary Rosenthal is looking forward to her summer vacation. Good books, the beach…life doesn’t get any better. But when her aging car blows up she’s desperate enough to take part in WLVH’s newest contest—live in a truck for a chance to win it. It’s not exactly how she planned to spend her vacation, but the scenery—AKA her opponent—is just as nice to look at as the beach would be, but he’s tough to read. One minute she thinks he likes her, the next he’s standoffish again.

The last thing Ethan Westbrook wants to do is live in a truck, but his father convinces him that it’s a great publicity stunt for their family-owned chain of pharmacies. He went into the truck counting down the seconds until he could get out of it, but after a few days with Mary, staying put didn’t seem so bad. As a matter of fact, he couldn’t think of anywhere he’d rather be.

A guy, a girl, and a truck…things are heating up at WLVH, Lovehandles, where love is more than just a song!

Lovehandles

by Holly Jacobs

Published 30 August 2005
WLVH radio station lives by the motto “WLVH, Lovehandles, where love is more than just a song.” They proved it over the summer when two contestants, Mary and Ethan, ended up falling in love and planning to marry.

Peter “Punch” O’Brien can think of a thousand other places he’d rather be than at their wedding. Weddings tend to do weird things to a woman’s mind. He’s nervous about his date getting the wrong idea. But it’s not his date who’s affected. It’s Judy, his on-air partner, who gets a wedding whammy. Something changes afterward, and he’s not sure he likes it. Suddenly all he can think about is…kissing her. Since Judy Bently is the most annoying woman he’s ever met, kissing her should be the furthest thing from his mind.

Judy is very much aware of her partner’s Casanova-like charms. No way is she going to fall under his spell. Things might have changed between them, but despite what her heart is telling her, she’s going to do her best to change their relationship back to a simply on-air partnership. Because the only way an off-air partnership with Punch could end is with heartache.

But sometimes the heart knows best…

Night Calls

by Holly Jacobs

Published 30 April 2006
Welcome back to WLVH Lovehandles, where love is more than just a song.

Cassie Grant’s nighttime radio program, Night Calls, centers around the belief that true love exists, that it matters. Unfortunately, Cassie’s own love life disappears when she breaks off her engagement. So she does the only thing she can do—she declares herself a spinster and buys…a dog (she’s allergic to cats). A big dog, because it’s going to take something pretty big to make her forget that she can find love for everyone but herself.

Jonathan Cooper is a lawyer who learned long ago that happily-ever-afters are fairy tales. He and Cassie have become friends since he moved next door. But every single man knows that while you can be friends with an engaged woman…there’s no way it will work with a single one. Especially a crazy one who just bought an Old English Mastiff that looks more like a small pony than a dog.

For a woman who’s given up on fairy tale endings and a man who’s never believed in them, it seems impossible that they might find a happily-ever-after of their own.
