Mission Spelling Zero is a series of books, in 7 levels, one for each colour of the rainbow, aimed to help young children gain first spelling skills. Using a multi sensory approach, the Zoggy Zero series teaches children to sound out words using phonics. First, the child learns how to make c-a-t into cat and then longer words, like hundred. Secondly, the child learns those sounds for which we use 2 or more letters sh as in ship or wish and aw as In crawl. The child uses a multi sensory approach. They look at the letters in the shape, they sound out the word with their voice and then hear it with their ears. They then write it with their fingers. Our fun character, Zoggy, from Planet Zen in a faraway universe, is featured in our Mission Spelling books 1-4. With his super alien brain powered by advanced technology, he goes on a series of adventures helping children practise each introduced sound.
