Containing maths practice tests for Year 4 pupils, this book and audio-cassette take account of OFSTED's highlighting of inadequate progression between Y3 and Y4 and SCAA's publication of sample Y4 assessment material in autumn 1997, possibly leading to Y4 SATs. The book includes complete sample tests which can be given formally to classes, although some pages can be used for practice or revision sessions with pupils in Year 4 or in other Year groups. A key feature is the incorporation of mental arithmetic.
