The Memphite Tomb of Horemheb, Commander-in-Chief of Tutankhamun
by Geoffrey Thorndike Martin
Published June 1905
This is the first report on the joint EES/Leiden excavations of the tombs of Horemheb between 1975 and 1980. It provides an account of the architecture of the superstructure (pylon, courtyards, statue room, magazine, cult chapel) and the substructure. Reliefs and inscriptions found in situ are here fully published and discussed alongside blocks from the tombs, found years ago and now in museums around the world. The volume is very fully illustrated with drawings, transcriptions and photos. Objects from the tombs and the surface debris will be published in subsequent volumes.
