There's truth in the old adage "you are what you eat". Science has shown that what we eat seriously affects our health. Today we are much more aware of the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet that is low in saturated fat and sugar and high in fibre, vitamins, minerals and essential fats. In an era of increased life expectancy and better basic healthcare, it's easy to become complacent about our health.
