Once again the book has been expanded with more coverage of the main cliffs and the inclusion of many of the minor venues that were left out last time round. It is now comes out at a massive 520 pages with over 4000 routes! All the cliffs have been rephotographed in glorious detail, every page has been redesigned and all the descriptions and grades have been checked against the UKClimbing databases. The book includes a superb set of inspiring action photographs from some renown photographers plus a plethora of graded lists. It is full of the kind of intimate knowledge that only comes from many years of climbing on these superb gritstone cliffs. "Peak NE Pokketz" is a small compact guidebook covering the best of the north eastern grit crags in the Peak area, including Rivelin and Bamford, the majestic Stanage, the Burbage Valley, and Millstone and the other quarries. This book focuses on routes from Moderate to HVS and manages to pack more than 500 carefully chosen gems between its covers, but also includes 20 classic E1s and E2s to give something for everyone to aspire to.
"Peak SE Pokketz" is the first Rockfax guide to the Peak area to include a mix of grit and limestone. The crags included are the grit edges from Froggatt and Curbar to Gardoms and Birchen; Stoney, Horseshoe, and Ravensdale for some low grade limestone. The final section covers the fine crags around Matlock. The 2015 Clwyd Limestone Rockfax covers a wealth of traditional and sport climbing. From the magnificent Eglweseg valley, through the popular sport routes in the quarries above the village of Trevor, and on to the two trad cliffs of Pandy Outcrop and Pontesford Rocks. Since the previous Clwyd Limestone Rockfax in 2005 the area has seen around 250 new routes developed and significant re-gearing of older lines. The area is now living up to its potential as a destination in its own right of as a regular stop-off on journeys to or from North Wales.The previous Rockfax book to Clwyd has been a major contributing factor in the boom in visitors to the area. The area is now a popular destination for travelling climbers and this book is the only one that covers the climbing. It is produced in the customary high standard that climbers now demand featuring full-colour photo-topos and loads of action photos and maps.
The Costa Blanca has long been the best known Hot Rock winter sun venue for climbers wanting a break from the grim northern winter.
