It seems logical that after the disproportionate growth of cities that took place for decades following World War II, a counter-development would occur. And it did! Stagnation of 'urban sprawl' runs parallel to the rediscovery of the country house as a typology able to adapt to the demands of the new century: economy, respect for the environment, use of ecological materials and energy saving. New Country Houses presents a totally new vision of the country house together with plans, construction details and the many innovations and interpretations to which it lends itself.
