Book 1
Adam has just moved to the small town of Springville. His first day there, he meets Sally, who tells him the town's real name is Spooksville because of all the spooky things that go on. Adam doesn't believe her-until they go in search of the Secret Path, a magical path that leads to other Spooksvilles.
Join Adam, Sally, and their friend Watch as they take the Secret Path and pass through a dark doorway. On the other side you'll find a terrifying Spooksville where there are huge spiders, living skeletons, evil black knights, and a witch who just loves to make dolls...out of kids!
Book 2
Cindy is playing by the ocean with her younger brother, Neil, when a ghost appears out of nowhere and grabs the little boy and carries him away. Cindy tries to tell people what happened, but everyone assumes that Neil drowned. Cindy is left heartbroken, with no one to help her find her brother.
Until Sally reads about what happened. Sally believes in ghosts-and she knows there are plenty of them to be found in Spooksville. With Adam and Watch, Sally goes to Cindy and promises to help get her brother back. But what none of them knows is that this ghost is a very nasty one-and she'd rather turn them all into ghosts than return Neil.

There is a famous cave located just outside of Spooksville. A lot of stories surround the dark place: scary ones as well as exciting ones. Adam decides to explore the cave with his friends, Watch, Sally, and Cindy. But the moment they go into the cave, the entrance closes behind them. They are trapped. In the dark.
They walk deeper into the cave, frantically searching for a way out. The batteries in their flashlights begin to run low. Then they realize something is following them. Something that has been in the cave for a long time. Something big, black…and hungry.

When Adam and his friends stay up late one night, they see bright lights in the sky. Lights that look suspiciously like flying saucers. Then, the next night, one of the saucers lands by the reservoir, and the creatures who come out of the ship don't look like people at all. Their heads are too large, and their eyes are too big and black. Worse, they want Adam and his friends to come with them for a little ride in space. In fact, the aliens insist that they come. They practically drag the kids into their ship. Then the flying saucer takes off! And it doesn't look like they'll be coming back anytime soon. Can Adam and his friends figure out a way to get home?

Adam and his friend are exploring the forest near Spooksville when they come across huge blocks of ice, hidden among the trees. They decide to melt one of the blocks, but when they do, a strange man comes out of the ice and tries to grab them! The man has very cold hands-and his eyes aren't too warm either. Soon there are dozens of Cold People running around Spooksville, freezing the residents. Adam and his friends have an idea that just might save the day. Or will it get them turned into human popsicles?

The time has come for Adam and his friends to again face Spooksville's most powerful citizen, Ms. Ann Templeton. Sally says the woman is definitely a witch, but Adam and Watch are not so certain. To find the truth, they visit her castle together. There they find both good and bad: creatures more horrible than anything they could imagine, but also magical tools that can create the most wonderful things.
But will these tools help Adam and his friends? Or are they just instruments to trick them and make them slaves of the mysterious Ann Templeton?

At Sally's insistence, the gang sets out to find the cool and sophisticated Bryce Poole. He went off to investigate the Secret Path a week ago and hasn't been seen since. When they find his backpack abandoned next to Madeline Templeton's tombstone, they know he's gone to a different realm. Sally, Adam, and Watch travel through the tombstone's portal and find themselves in a better version of Spooksville: it has all the same buildings, except everything is brighter and more beautiful. Even the cheeseburgers taste better. But something dark lurks beneath this sunny Spooksville...

Are there such things as fairies and gnomes? Leprechauns and elves? Most people, including Adam, would say no. But one day a whole herd of magical creatures invades Spooksville. At first they play childish pranks, and Adam and his friends are happy to welcome them. But quickly the pranks turn cruel, leaving Adam, Sally, Watch, and Cindy fighting for their lives.

While hiking in the woods near Spooksville, Adam and his friends find a cube-shaped stone. It is clear, like a crystal, and seems to shine with colored light. To their surprise, they discover that if they hold it and make a wish for something, the wish will come true!
They call it the Wishing Stone. And they love it. Until they discover that there is a price to be paid for each wish...and that the price can be deadly.

Adam and his friends are exploring the area around Spooksville when they come across a black cat. It seems friendly: it purrs when they rub its back, and licks its paws like any other cat. But then it follows them back to town, and strange things begin to happen. A tree falls down, and a house catches fire. Each time something bad happens, the cat is there—watching, with its strange green eyes. And it won’t go away.
Adam and his friends don’t know what to do. Especially when the fearsome feline begins to use its powers on them!

There are dinosaurs in Spooksville! Huge meat-eating lizards attack people in their cars. Flying reptiles swoop down and lift kids away. But where did these dinosaurs come from? Adam and his friends discover a huge doorway that connects present-day Spooksville with sixty million years ago. It's through this that the dinosaurs are emerging and attacking the town. Who created the doorway? And can it be closed before all of Spooksville is destroyed?
