Rahain - a land where the mage-born rule and everyone else is expendable.
A slave, a politician and an assassin find themselves the unlikely heroes that could bring the republic to its knees.
Killop is a slave with a secret: his sister is a renegade Fire Mage. Hunted by the Rahain, her capture could lead to the death of thousands.
Laodoc is a politician who loves his country but has grown to hate many of its ancient traditions. He risks losing his family, his career and his liberty to fight for what he believes in.
Battle Mage Daphne Holdfast is on the run. Working in Rahain as a killer for hire, she is biding her time until she can clear her name and return home, when a chance meeting with Killop changes everything.

Book 2
It’s time for someone to pay.
Killop has escaped the dungeons of the Rahain and fled into the mountains.
All he desires is to begin his search for Daphne, but his people are crying out for a leader to free them from their chains of servitude.
Can he ignore their pleas and leave Rahain to look for the woman he loves?
Or will he stay, and lead his people in their fight for freedom before they are destroyed
He cannot do both…
…and time is running out.
Keira lies shackled and alone, surrounded by soldiers while the smoke rises from the poisoned ruins of the city she was forced to destroy.
Condemned as a war criminal by the King of the Holdings and reviled by the rest of the world, she is a prize weapon – a tool in the hands of her Rahain captors.
But no more.
Keira knows she must escape…
…or die trying.
Book 3
On the run - again.
Branded an enemy by the Church and Emperor, Daphne Holdfast is forced to flee the Imperial City with her young daughter Karalyn, whose own mage powers are now beginning to reveal themselves.
They intend to travel to Rahain, a land in turmoil following the devastating invasion and occupation by Alliance forces.
With Holdings missionaries converting the newly-freed Rahain masses, and the overthrown aristocrats fomenting rebellion against the new regime, Daphne and her infant daughter must undertake a perilous journey to find the safe haven of Slateford, ruled by Karalyn’s father, Killop of the Kellach Brigdomin.
All Daphne desires is to settle down with her family, but as one of the most powerful mages alive, what if the world won’t let her?
What if the world has other plans for Daphne?

Book 5
The Empire has lived in peace for 16 years, but trouble is brewing behind the Grey Mountains, where the renegade nation of Rahain prepares; arming itself for a long-awaited war of vengeance.
Karalyn, the 18 year old daughter of two war heroes, is trying to find a place for herself in the world. Her own powers were deemed so dangerous she spent much of her childhood in exile.
Now, the lure of the Imperial Capital and the prospect of service to the Empress is pulling her out of isolation and into the affairs of the world.
Hundreds of miles to the south, within the repressive land of Rahain, Lennox trains for the war to come. He and his comrades-in-arms, the children of slaves stolen from another land, have been trained as soldiers their entire lives for one purpose...
…to bring the Empire to its knees.

Keir Holdfast, elder son of Daphne and Killop, is always in trouble. Already an accomplished vision mage at 16, his life is turned upside down with the news that he also shares the same powers as his aunt, the infamous fire mage who brought down the old empire.
Can he learn how to harness his powers in service of the new empire, or will his arrogance lead to his downfall?
Hundreds of miles from the fighting, within the depths of the Sanang forest, a visitor arrives with a message for a family of hedgewitches; a message that will transform their lives, and change the destiny of the Magelands forever.
Book 7
Keir and Thorn: Fire and Death

As the Archmages renew their assault upon the world, can the Soulwitch and the Stormwitch step up to fill the gap in the empire's defences, or will their own ambitions and lust for power send them on a different course?
Burdened by grief and guilt, Karalyn and Lennox retreat from the war, making their separate ways to the remotest corner of the world. When they meet, a chain of events is set off that quickly moves out of their control, threatening not only their lives, but the future of the Magelands.

As the sole mage capable of stopping the gods from destroying her world, Karalyn faces a terrible choice – continue to hide away, or endanger everyone she loves and take the fight to the approaching enemy.
