For those young musicians in the early stages of learning the piano, guitar or recorder - or who simply like to sing! The stories of Creation, Noah and Jonah each contain five songs to sing or play from simple music notation. Alongside each story there are musical tips, simple musical terms, exercises, reminders and activities to help reinforce what has been taught in music lessons and reflect what is happening in the Bible story. Apart from its use by individuals, this book can also be used in assembly, or performed in a concert with some of the children narrating the story and others singing and playing the songs.

This is a very simple yet comprehensive resource book for those working with the under fives, both in nursery education and church-based pre-school groups. The material is accessible with a "See what to do at a glance" approach. Each session includes a brief "Ready, steady go" section for the leader, outlining the theme of the session, Bible references and simple suggestions for preparation. Further material comprises a suggested welcome, preparation of the story basket, an interactive read-aloud illustrated Bible story, suggestions for movement and mime, instructions for the craft and simple prayers. The twelve sessions are broken into four distinctive sections: "Me", "Me and you", "At home" and "Out and about". The sheet accompanying each session forms the basis of a take-home craft activity. All full-page craft and story illustrations have photocopy permission.
