An amazingly written book with a biracial MC, paying homage to Carrie by Stephen King with Tiffany's own spin with the topic of racism, interracial relationships, fitting in, and standing up for what's right. You can watch my livestream discussion of the book next month as part of the Diversity is Lit Book Club here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1141013-diversity-is-lit-book-club
HELLO, this book. Dark magic? Check. Darkly familiar racism everyone pretends doesn't exist? Check. Life-long bottled-up trauma in the main character? Check.
I have shoved this modern remake of Carrie into so many HS reader's hands already this year, and it's just so so good. A must read for horror fans.
