Will Kate find a life awaiting her at Rebel Ranch?
Kate Rainbolt
Kate Rainbolt is the only girl in the family, and sadly the last child of the Rainbolt siblings. Since she graduated college, she has been on the rodeo circuit while not looking back on when she was living at Rebel. Well, until a rodeo accident has her coming back home to recover. Kate is a great character that I loved learning about. She is a bit of a rebel herself, like dying the ends of her hair purple and figuring out what to do with her life now. I like how Kate unknowingly was making a home at Rebel Ranch and getting used to the idea that maybe coming back home wasn't such a bad idea. If I saw Kate on the road, I probably would be amazed at how cool a person she is but unsure if I could go up and start a conversation.
Jess McNally
Jess McNally used to be up in Montana working on a ranch himself until his mom needed him to return to Rebel to help out. He is now the foreman at Rebel Ranch, and he has the right credentials to do it. I like how Jess always tells Kate that he won't lie for her and that if one of her brothers asks him for an opinion on her, he will give it to them. Jess is a great character that compliments Kate's a lot. Jess is the rule follower who tries to do everything right, while Kate is the one that tries to follow the rules before deciding that they aren't for her.
I love their relationship in the book, and I liked how Jess had been wooing Kate from the beginning without even realizing it. At least he was doing his version of wooing Kate. If I met Jess on the side of the road, I would probably end up saying hi to him and then probably running off. I don't think I could have struck up a conversation with him either.
Five Stars
The Cowgirl's Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe is a sweet story that is about the last Rainbolt maybe finally coming home. I loved this story, and it is bittersweet to know that it is the last book in this series. Ms. Radcliffe has done an awesome job creating these wonderful people called the Rainbolt's. Each one is unique in their own way and needed their story to be told. Kate's story is one where when one door closes, and another one opens to a new path that you need to take. Let it be to come home finally or a different way to still be on the rodeo circuit. I am giving The Cowgirl's Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe five stars as it was a nice read that had me laughing and crying at all the right parts. I am recommending this to anyone that likes sweet western romances.
