Initial thoughts: I'm mentally exhausted after finishing this book. I suppose it's because I don't regularly read German books anymore, so it took me longer to read it than it would've taken me in German. Then again, I expected this but I figured the German translation would likely be truer to the original Swedish than English would be since Swedish is a Germanic language. Furthermore, jumping to and fro between time is not a narrative style I'm too fond of. Nonetheless, I persevered because (1) my father recommended it to me (and for once it's not a thriller, which I usually dismiss), and (2) it is admittedly, funny, albeit a tad morbid. The twisted logic and tall tales were highly entertaining because they were in their own class of incredulousness.
