An enjoyable read
This quick read has more romance than suspense, which is a good thing in my mind. As Meg and Cade attempt to flee their pasts, they both have an opportunity to see the other at their worst – and yet that is much better than they had hoped. I felt that their relationship, attraction, and growing trust made sense and was written in an interesting way.
The suspense part of the story was light-hearted which I know sounds strange but it is what it is. This author has quite a sense of humor and interjected it throughout the story, keeping it on the lighter side.
The last half of the book had most of the action as the killer finds their hideaway. I did figure out the identity of the one who had set Cade up for murder long before they did but didn’t know the motivation until they discovered who it was themselves.
Overall, this was an enjoyable short read that I highly recommend.
