Quirky Cat

Jessica Jones has always done a great job of showcasing the darker elements of being a superhero. There’s no perfection here, there’s just raw emotion, mistakes, and a human being constantly struggling while wishing she could do better. That’s one of the reasons why I love her. Her attitude is the other reason, of course.
I went into this issue expecting something heavy, if not dark. And I got it. I don’t think I was quite prepared for all of the internal reflections that happened here, or the legitimate concerns that were had about said events. It was…rough is a kind way to put it. But it was beautifully written as well.
This issue did a brutally fantastic job of showing us Jessica’s worst fears. I don’t think it had truly hit me before just how scared she was about this, or how good her reasons were for being concerned.
On a happy note: bonus points for the Captain Marvel cameo. I always love seeing her, especially in Jessica Jones’ series. I feel like they had let their friendship drop by the wayside in the previous series, so it’s nice to see them picking that back up.
